Il Presidente del WBO – World Boxing Organization- PACO VALCARCEL, ha risposto al malumore generale del verdetto, sottolineando che la sua organizzazione non può in nessun modo ribaltare il verdetto. “É discrezione dei giudici eccetto in casi di frode o violazione delle regole, quindi non è questo il caso. Nel contratto tra PACQUIAO e HORNE c’è la clausa del rematch, se i due Promoters intendono applicarla, ci sarà una seconda opportunità di rivedere i due pugili sul ring. Inoltre ha dichiarato che il match sarà rivisto da cinque giudici anonimi di nazioni differenti, round per round con tabulazione del 60%, 80%, 100%.
Signofica che 3 giudici su 5, determineranno chi ha vinto i round; questo per dare la certezza ai fans di chi ha vinto il match, anche se non è possibile cambiare il risultato dello scorso 2 luglio a Brisbane, in Australia.”
Insomma il sabotaggio nel record di Pacquiao, può essere venga anestesizzato. Lo stesso accadde per il match vs Tim Bradley. Lo scorso 2 luglio, Tim Bradley per l’occasione è stato commentatore per ESPN, con Ted Atlas.

San Juan, PR – WBO President Paco Valcarcel has responded to claims that Jeff Horn’s unanimous decision win over Manny Pacquiao at the weekend should be reversed.
The former schoolteacher upset huge odds to outpoint Pacquiao and claim the WBO welterweight title at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
However the decision has caused uproar, with many claiming Manny deserved to win the fight, but Valcarcel has pointed out that there is no precedent for his organisation to step in.
“The discretion of a referee or judge cannot be reversed, except in a case of fraud or violation of laws which is not the case in Pac vs Horn,” he said.
“The contract for Pac vs Horn provides a rematch clause, with which the WBO is in accordance if the promoters decide to move forward.”
WBO President Paco Valcarcel has announced that the WBO will review Jeff Horn’s victory over Manny Pacquiao. “We will appoint five (5) anonymous competent Judges from different countries to watch the bout without sound distraction. Then, we will tabulate the results to ascertain clearly which rounds each fighter won using an average scale based on 60, 80 and 100 per cent. This means that 3 of the 5 officials have to agree to determine which fighter won the round. The purpose of this review is to be able to give the fans certainty of who was the winner of the bout, even though we do not have the power to reverse the decision of the judges based on discretion and, in this case, we do have a rematch clause on the fight contract.”
In short, sabotage in Pacquiao’s record may be anesthetized. The same happened for the match against Tim Bradley. Last July 2nd, Tim Bradley, for the occasion was commentator for ESPN, with Ted Atlas.
A nice gesture by WBO. Champions like PACQUIAO deserve respect. Champions like MANNY are exceptions, are rare and world need to be inspiring by the great Philippino, boxing don’t need bad verdicts.
