Questa notte sul ring texano AJAGBA vs VIANELLO. É questa la notte dell’italiano?
Il match della notte è JARED ANDERSON vs RYAD MERHY.
Ma a me interessa raccontarvi del match sottoclu tra il Campione WBC Argento dei Pesi Massimi, il nigeriano EFE AJAGBA che difenderà il suo titolo contro in nostro italiano GUIDO VIANELLO, questa notte sabato 13 aprile all’American Bank Center di Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ajagba, 29 anni con 19 match di cui 14 via KO, 1 perso, originario di Ughelli, Nigeria e ora residente a Stafford, Texas, ha fermato l’australiano Joseph Goddall nel 4° round del suo ultimo incontro scorso 4 novembre.
Vianello, di Roma, 14 match vinti di cui 12 via KO, 1 perso via KO, 1 pari, vive da circa 6 anni a Las Vegas sotto contratto dal 2018 con Top Rank, la miglior organizzazione di Pugilato al Mondo, Il leggendario Bob Arum gli ha dato l’occasione della vita, lui l’ha abbracciata.
Top Rank lo ha fatto debuttare, in un sottoclou al Madison Square Garden. In questi sei anni gli ha proposto avversari al suo livello. Un percorso esemplare alla sua crescita di atleta per la via al successo.
É che il pugilato in qualsiasi categoria di peso, e nei Pesi Massimi è una questione di essere pronti alla massima potenza fisica e mentale. Tanto è più grosso il corpo, tanto più proporzionalmente grandi sono le sfide che devi superare.
Tanto più è forte la volontà, tanto più esplodono cazzotti. E certo la motivazione. Insomma tante cose.
Il pugilato non è solo performance atletica. Più duro è il da dove vieni, più la determinazione pretende la rivalsa sulle ostilità che la vita non per tutti uguale, ti mette a disposizione per volgerla al positivo. La boxe ha cambiato la vita di un infinità di talenti, diventati Campioni, altrimenti segnate negativamente.
Come diceva il grande vecchio Rino Tommasi, c’è meno delinquenza se si investe nel Pugilato. Valeva ieri come vale oggi.
In Italia non investe nessuno. E certo non abbiamo organizzatori con il guizzo adatto e con il portafoglio. Ma solo palestre per messa in forma. Le palestre di boxe sono ormai rare.
Aggiungo di mio, non c’entra necessariamente la delinquenza. Ma è quella volontà, quel talento che nessuno t’insegna, o ce l’hai o non. Ma certo ci vuole chi te lo affina. Guerrieri si nasce, così come Campioni.
Anche li non ci sono maghi maestri di pugilato, senza la materia prima di qualità da plasmare, ghè nè minga! Missione impossibile.
GUIDO VIANELLO, 29 anni arriva dall’ultimo match dopo aver sconfitto Moses Johnson nel primo round. E prima ancora ha vinto i suoi ultimi due incontri da quando ha perso per KO contro Jonathan Rice il 14 gennaio dello scorso anno.
Sulla carta EFE AJAGBA, non c’è dubbio ha più probabilità d’imporsi, di vincere.
Perché nella boxe puoi avere il miglior organizzatore del mondo, quale è TOP RANK di Las Vegas, ma non basta. Puoi combattere nelle più gloriose arene del mondo, ma non basta. Puoi aver un soprannome colorato come “il gladiatore”, non si rifiuta a nessun romano. É che i gladiatori erano sostanzialmente nati schiavi, e la rivalsa l’avevano nel profondo del cuore. Così erano anche allenati a scopo militare.
E dunque caro VIANELLO se non superi avversari degni di nota, non farai storia. Il pugilato non è il calcio, o altri sport di squadra dove comunque vada, bella o brutta partita il risultato conta.
Nella boxe è il valore dei due contendenti. Certo devono essere match con pugili dello stesso livello, nessuno vuol vedere il morto sul ring. Nessuno mai.
Ma nemmeno un brutto match. In genere la boxe fallisce se non c’è lo spettacolo di due impavidi guerrieri.
Questa notte sembra sia la vera prima occasione per il nostro GUIDO VIANELLO per mostrare se la sua preparazione con la sua volontà, può creare un pubblico vasto dall’America all’Italia per espandersi nel resto del mondo. Ma quanti sono gli italiani nel mondo che se avessero un vero campione di boxe si spellerebbero le mani per gli applausi…?!!! Scommetto milioni!
Del resto abbiamo un passato di lusinghieri Pesi Massimi, Primo Carnera e l’ndimenticabile Rocky Marciano, un vero martello pneumatico.
Va beh Rocky è nato a Brockton, dalle parti di Boston, ma da una famiglia interamente abruzzese di Ripa Teatina. Ma anche Lorenzo Zanon che aveva tanto cuore sul ring, ma non supportato da altrettanto fisico. Paolo Vidoz che volendo aveva il fisico e il cuore, ma tanto indisciplinato e goloso. Oggi infatti ottimo oste in quel di Gorizia.
La Cintura WBC argento – darebbe a VIANELLO quel quarto di certezza di poter arrampicarsi alla vetta. No non sarà semplice caro GUIDO. Ormai da sei anni negli USA, non hai mostrato ancora la tua capacità.
Sei un ragazzo italiano di buona famiglia, con solide radici, ma cresciuto in un contesto agiato per credere che tu abbia quella rabbia, quella ferocia, quella volontà di innalzarti e diventare “star” della Boxe.
Logico che tiferò per te. Ma non sarò delusa se così non andrà.
Desidero fortemente che ci sorprendi. L’Italia di oggi, in qualunque categoria di peso, è senza campioni, senza pugili di nota.
E se tu GUIDO puoi fare qualcosa… questa è la tua notte.

POST SCRIPTUM 14 Aprile
AJAGBA vince per Decisione Divisa, il punteggio dei giudici é 96-94 (due volte) per AJAGBA e 94-96 per VIANELLO. Un risultato che forse poteva essere anche viceversa. Sicuramente è meno peggio di quello che mi aspettavo. Il match c’è stato tutto, scambio di cazzottoni. I primi round dominati da VIANELLO, che ha tentato con la mano pesante.
Poi il nigeriano ha cambiato la guardia è diventano mancino forse a questo punto un VIANELLO perplesso non ha trovato lo stesso ritmo, se non all’ultimo round. Troppo tardi per guadagnarsi il plebiscito dei punteggi su tutti e tre i cartellini dei giudici.
GUIDO devi prepararti di più far lavorare i muscoli il doppio, più sparring esperti. In preparazione diventare tu stesso sparring di chi oggi è all’apice, e poi devi innamorarti, guardare i grandi match della storia, studiarli per intuire soluzioni, intanto che il tuo carattere cresce in personalità.

But I’m interested in telling you about the undercard fight between the WBC Silver Heavyweight Champion, the Nigerian EFE AJAGBA who will defend his title against our Italian GUIDO VIANELLO, tonight Saturday, April 13th at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

AJAGBA wins by Split Decision, the judges’ score is 96-94 (twice) for AJAGBA and 94-96 for VIANELLO. A result that perhaps could also have been vice versa. It’s less worse than I expected. The fight was all there, a slugfest. The starting rounds were dominated by VIANELLO, who tried with a heavy hand.
Then the Nigerian changed his guard and became southpaw, perhaps at this point a perplexed VIANELLO didn’t find the same rhythm, until the last round. Too late to earn a plebiscite of scores on all three judges’ cards.
GUIDO, you have to prepare more, work your muscles twice as hard, more expert sparring. In preparation, you become sparring with those who are at their peak today, and then you have to fall in love watching the great fights in history, and study them to intuit solutions, as your character grows in personality.
