Questa notte al Madison Square Garden di New York, per la prima volta due campionesse si sfideranno nell’arena più famosa degli USA: l’irlandese KATIE TAYLOR vs l’americana di Porto Rico AMANDA SERRANO per il titolo dei Pesi Leggeri WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, in un match di 10 round di 2′ ciascuno.
Molti uomini storgono ancora il naso, devono farsene una ragione: noi donne abbiamo la necessità fisiologica come gli uomini di confrontarci.
E questa sera il match sarà vibrante di emozioni perché il “main event”, per la prima volta nella storia della cattedrale della Boxe, sono due fantastiche ragazze, così diverse eppure con lo stesso obiettivo, provare il loro valore atletico, le loro abilità, la forza fisica e mentale.
Promovendo così quel senso di autostima di noi donne, la nostra capacità di determinare le nostre scelte e il nostro diritto di influenzare il cambiamento sociale per noi stesse e per gli altri.
KATIE TAYLOR, oggi 35 anni, un passato da esaltante Medaglia d’Oro Olimpica a Londra 2012, nei Pesi Leggeri, nel 2016 diventa professionista e in un anno conquista la Cintura WBA, e poi una serie ininterrotta di conferme del suo valore, messo a dura prova dalla belga, Delfine Persoon ma riesce in due match a vincere i titoli The Ring e WBC. Il suo record è di 20 match di cui 6 vinti via KO. Vanta una straordinaria classe pugilistica.
AMANDA SERRANO 33 anni, è diventata professionista nel 2009, ha una collezione di titoli vinti in sette categorie di peso diverse: Leggeri, Pesi Piuma junior, Pesi Gallo e Pesi Gallo junior. Il suo record è di 42 match- 30 via KO- 1 perso -1 pari. Insidiosa mancina.
Tutte due consumate pugili, sono al resoconto della loro carriera così ricca di notti gloriose, di lacrime di emozioni. Il pubblico sarà ben suddiviso, New York è stata territorio di sostanziosa immigrazione irlandese. Porto Rico ne ha imposto la lingua ispanica…

KATIE l’irlandese, è più potente, solida ed abile “ballerina”. Nel 2018 ha battuto la sorella di AMANDA SERRANO, Cindy, giusto per togliere un po’ delle certezze alla portoricana.
AMANDA è anni che anela questa sfida. Guardia destra, dal cazzotto potente al corpo. É per costituzione un Peso Piuma naturale.
La mia previsione, se TAYLOR tiene a bada con la sua classe, come credo l’aggressività di SERRANO, sarà lo stile TAYLOR ad imporsi. Ma forse la potenza in miniatura della SERRANO può essere difficile da controllare….
Affrontare una mancina è difficile perchè si tratta di stravolgere la dinamica di combattimento, di azzerare quello che c’è di istintivo nella boxe. Ma KATIE è una religiosa della boxe, sa menare a destra e a manca…
Mhhh… è lo stile che fa il match E allora chi delle due? Mi auguro sia un grande classico da ricordare.
Se invece maliziosamente vedo che entrambe non s’impongono come devono, per una succulent rivincita, avrò perso tempo, perché se devi esserci un combattimento che sia fino in fondo. Una rivincita perché pari merito, di questi giorni non avrebbe senso.
La boxe donne è più che imposta e vincente se questa sera le nostre brave, belle ragazze, mantengono alto il profilo atletico, culturale dell’intensità del boxare, entusiasmeranno il pubblico dell’arena già al completo. E allora si che la boxe donne, non avrà più rivalità con i migliori eventi di boxe maschile.
E una rivincita ci sarà perchè il contratto, sono certa lo prevede comunque vada il risultato di questa sera.
Notte col fiato sospeso…Ecco quello che mi aspetto questa sera.

É ancora KATIE TAYLOR la migliore e vince AMANDA SERRANO 2 cartellini su tre in split decision.
Bella notte! Brave sia TAYLOR che SERRANO! Al Madison Square Garden, l’atmosfera elettrica è quella dei grandi combattimenti! TAYLOR E SERRANO hanno superato anche quell’intensità che genera un incontro i cui momenti migliori si alternano, fluttuanti e d’ intensità sconcertante.
TAYLOR è una campionessa migliore di SERRANO, più intelligente e con più ampie abilità. Sapeva che sarebbe stato un match rischioso. La mascella granitica di TAYLOR, è stata messa alla prova, ma non abbastanza. Al 9 round nell’arena si è cantato KATIE sino alla fine. L’onorevole rivincita è assicurata.

Her record is 20 matches, 6 via KO. She has an extraordinary boxing class.

KATIE TAYLOR is still the best and wins over AMANDA SERRANO 2 cards out of three in a split decision.
Great night! Congratulation to both TAYLOR and SERRANO! At Madison Square Garden, the electric atmosphere is that of big fights! TAYLOR AND SERRANO have also overcome that intensity that generates an encounter whose best moments alternate, fluctuate, and are of disconcerting intensity.
TAYLOR is a better champion than SERRANO, smarter, and with a wider skill. She knew it was going to be a risky fight. TAYLOR’s granite jaw has been put to the test, but not enough. In the 9th round in the arena, the KATIE sign was sung to the end.
