USYK vs DUBOIS il match e dopo match 

Sono le 3 del mattino, lascio l’arena Tarczyriski Stadion di Wroclaw, unica persona di nazionalità italiana accreditata a coprire l’evento, mi è capitato spessissimo e in più con la consapevolezza di aver fatto l’analisi di previsione di vittoria via KO o anche via TKO che USYK ha confermato.

Vi avevo anticipato che lo sfidante DUBOIS avrebbe avuto “a che fare sul ring con tale classe, maestria tecnica, intelligenza e motivazione… e sul ring si sarebbe visto un solo uomo sventolare la bandiera ucraina” E così é stato.

Al 9° round USYK ha fermato con uno spettacolare KO finendo la combinazione iniziata nel 8° round.

Il risultato determinato dall’arbitro e sostenuto dai giudici, tutti navigati esperti con esperienze decennali ai migliori ring del mondo: Arbitro: Luis Pabon  qua i cartellini dell’Hall of Fame sudafricano Stanley Christodoulou che ho il piacere di conoscere da almeno 20 anni con il punteggio di 78-73, il polacco Leszek Jankowiak 79-72,  il polacco Pawel Kardyni 79-72

La voce leggendaria del Ring Announcer Michael Buffer, ha entusiasmato come sempre, con il suo caloroso celebre richiamo “Let’s Get Ready To Rumbleeeee”.

Poi l’inno del Regno Unito. Poi una voce femminile sicura ha cantato l’inno dell’Ucraina. La pioggia ha iniziato leggera poi in scroscio quasi liberatorio sulle spalle della maggior parte dei presenti coperti dalla bandiera giallo blue dell’Ucraina. La bandiera avvolge, copre e protegge…

USYK  si confermato un grande di tutti i tempi.

Ho esultato come tutti gli amanti del grande e bel pugilato. USYK incarna la Nobile Arte, confermando il talento di Lomachenko, proseguendo il prezioso lascito dei Fratelli Klitschko.

Stasera me lo hanno ricordato Massimo Barrovecchio il nostro arbitro e il grande organizzatore tedesco di Amburgo, Berd Bonte, tra i grandissimi nel mondo che per 18 anni ha guidato la carriera dei Fratelli Vitali e Wladimir Klitschko. Entrambi con una nostalgia nel ricordo del successo di quella notte straordinaria di 12 anni fa, proprio qui il 10 settembre del 2011 inaugurarono con un evento impressionate questa stessa arena del Tarczyriski Stadion. Entrambi certi che questa stasera si sarebbe ripetuto il successo.

E così è stato l’arena si è riempita con 50.000 persone, per di più ucraini la cui combattività orgogliosa e così difensore della libertà, l’Indipendenza, per la Democrazia. Ma devo dire anche infiniti dal Regno Unito, certo i tantisismi polacchi e poi i media da ogni parte del mondo.

OLEKSANDR USYK sta gestendo la sua grandezza e popolarità da uomo normale, non dimentica di dichiarare il suo amore a sua moglie Caterina e ai loro figli, e tornare dai soldati ucraini in trincea. Uomo che di banale non ha nulla. É un grande atleta che non vive il ring da “star” ma da Fighter, da Combattente del Ring e con quelle regole della boxe la sua mente genera ragionamenti che non siamo in grado di prevedere.

Gli ucraini urlavano al loro eroe del ring USYK di sostenere gli eroi in guerra.

Chi meglio di un Soldato in trincea quale USYK questa notte poteva rendere omaggio con la sua vittoria sul ring di questa notte polacca? Certo la dedica migliore per la sua nazione, per l’Ucraina.

In costante movimento “il Cosacco Ucraino”, atletico a ritmo sostenuto ha vinto con quel suo jab insistente e con colpi pesanti ripetuti, e contemporaneamente schivando, sguizzando, scivolando, ondeggiando a destra e a manca e incassando poco, perché non ci sono stati affondi degni di nota del britannico DUBOIS. USYK in balia delle onde dell’inglese che si sono infrante sul suo corpo forte, atleticamente molto preparato e convinto di se stesso.

DUBOIS invece ha fatto un match da “rissa” di quelli che fuori da pub inglesi, dove dopo la terza pinta di birra, tutto è lecito. Questo è stato il piano di DUBOIS.

DUBOIS ben sapendo di non poter sconfiggere l’ucraino sul piano atletico e pugilistico, l’ha buttata in colpi sporchi. E i suoi tentativi maldestri sin dall’inizio han colpito ripetutamente (gambe e sedere), facendo rispondere a gesti buffi l’ucraino a chiedere che intenzioni avesse…questo succedeva prima del colpo basso al 5° round, che hanno obbligato l’arbitro Luis Pabon al fermo, per far si che USYK si riprendesse.

L’ucraino ha accusato quel colpo basso sotto la cintura, in piena cintura e per un’infinità di tempo, così mi sembrato, ha tremato sul tappeto del ring, piano piano in circa quattro minuti scarsi si è ripreso.

Il colpo basso mi è stato subito evidente, il replay ha confermato. Sotto l’ombelico è colpo basso e poco sotto c’è la vita dove si cinge la cintura dei pantaloncini. E da manuale.

L’arbitro Luis Pabon, è al suo 548° incontro, ha precedentemente arbitrato il 2° match vittorioso per l’ucraino, il match di USYK vs JOSHUA. Sul ring di questa sera, dopo quel colpo illecito, ha insistito per la conciliazione, invitando DUBOIS ha toccare il guantone di USYK. Non c’è stato verso che il britannico mostrasse un cenno di fair play.

I tentativi di rissa di DUBOIS sono proseguiti per gli altri due round sino a quando all’8° round sotto la raffica di USYK, il britannico cade al tappeto in Knock Down ed è  salvato in estremis dal suono della campana di fine round. Il 9° round OLEKSANDR USYK ha concluso via KO la sua performance da immenso Fighter.

USYK ha dominato il ring per tutti i round o quasi, salvo forse un paio di minuti del 4 round… e con tale concentrazione e un tale controllo del ring e poi con quel suo sguardo, ha completamente ipnotizzato l’avversario. DUBOIS gli girava intorno mentre USYK lo obbligava a guardarlo…

Sul risultato del match per ciò che mi riguarda nessuna sorpresa.

Ciò che invece mi ha amareggiato è stato la sceneggiata che da una “vecchia volpe” quale l’inglese FRANK WARREN, promoter decano e da me riconosciuto negli ultimi anni migliore organizzatore del mondo, in coppia con il gigante americano BOB ARUM, che per il Regno Unito rappresenta sia DANIEL DUBOIS che TYSON FURY, dicevo in conferenza stampa, si è presentato con l’allenatore di DUBOIS, DON CHARLES il quale ha piagnucolato che il suo ragazzo ora avrà ripercussioni per questa vincita mancata, in cui credeva.

DON CHARLES ha spalleggiato WARREN che ha vomitato falsità sull’inesistenza di quel evidentissimo “colpo basso” prendendoci tutti per idioti e minacciando di chiedere al WBA – World Boxing Association – di cui DUBOIS era prima della sconfitta, detentore regolare della Cintura WBA, per chiedere il risultato di no-contest e poter così realizzare la rivincita…

Nessuno dei media da tutto il mondo ha avuto nulla da chiedere a WARREN.

Tranne qualcuno dei media inglesi presenti.

La tristezza è vedere l’ossessione con il quale i media inglesi sempre più invasivi hanno calamitato l’argomento sul colpo basso che solo loro non hanno voluto vedere. É il caso di dire, il capo non ammette di essere contradetto…

Per scrupolo mi sono rivolta ad un inglese DOCG che ho avuto modo di conoscere ai grandi bordo ring del mondo e ritengo un grande conoscitore della boxe, Mr. Powell, e mi ha confermato che DUBOIS ha colpito USYK con un “colpo basso”.

Eppure con la tecnologia così avanzata basta fare un replay in slow motion, su qualsiasi cellulare…ma anche 10, 100, 1000 replay e farsene una ragione che quello che si vede era, è stato un colpo basso.

Se lo ha visto l’arbitro in prima battuta, perché negare così tanta evidenza e l’esperienza da uno che tra l’altro viene da Porto Rico, dall’altra parte del mondo?

La conclusione in conferenza stampa l’ha fatta USYK entrando nel salone dopo la verifica dell’antidoping, con una coda di persone tanto lunga e con un servizio di sicurezza impeccabile, esplicando alzando la maglietta, facendo vedere il suo ombelico e il suo punto vita dove si posiziona la cintura. Si è detto pronto ad una rivincita senza pantaloncini, nudo …

USYK in questi giorni non ha mai smesso di firmare autografi, e nemmeno stasera.

A dieci minuti dalla fine della conferenza stampa, sono entrati i soldati ucraini che riportano le ferite, le mutilazioni della tragedia in Ucraina. Sono venuti a festeggiare USYK il loro eroe di questa notte. Discreti, ordinati hanno innalzato le loro bandiere.

USYK, si è unito a loro, ha urlato un grido patriottico a cui i soldati han risposto con altrettanta veemenza. E poi quel grido di orgoglio che tutti riconosciamo “Slava Ucraina”. Certo che con quel grido mi sono unita a loro.

DUBOIS rifletti, hai avuto una grande opportunità d’incontrare un grande campione assoluto dei Pesi Cruiser, colui che ha spazzolato tutta la categoria, facendo sue tutte le Cinture WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, The Ring Magazine. Peccato non riconoscere la grandezza perché ti ha ben battuto.

Un vero Campione riconosce il valore di un Campione che quella notte è stato superiore.

Ora USYK trattenendo tutte le Cinture già conquistate, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, questa sera si è confermato immenso Peso Massimo, prima che su DUBOIS, ha vinto altre due volte consecutive, partendo da sfavorito, vincendo ampiamente ai punti sul connazionale di DUBOIS il britannico ANTHONY JOSHUA.

Devo dire che USYK ha decimato gli i campioni di boxe inglesi che gli sono stati proposti, anche quel maleducato di DERCK CHISORA che della sua boxe sporca ne ha fatto il suo stile…perdente.

Ora se dopo la trattativa dello scorso marzo caduta miseramente per l’esosa pretesa del britannico TYSON FURY, della pretesa  altamente maggiore della percentuale economica sulla borsa, tra il detentore della Cintura WBC, TYSON “The Gypsy King” FURY vs OLEKSANDR USYK  è chiarissimo che FURY lo teme. Altri si faranno avanti con USYK, grati di aver avuto l’opportunità.

USYK, 36 anni ha ancora 2/3 anni di forma fisica prima di arrendersi al tempo che passa. Prima di ritirarsi da una sensazionale carriera.

Nella storia della boxe un caso simile quale OLEKSANDR USYK mi è venuto subito in mente l’americano EVANDER HOLYFIELD, da immenso Peso Crusier a Numero Uno dei Pesi Massimi. Colui che ha fermato per ben due volte MIKE TYSON.

Se gli inglesi del Pugilato di oggi, DUBOIS e il suo team con il suo organizzatore WARREN, non sanno riconoscere e congratularsi con l’uomo migliore sul ring di questa notte, temo che hanno perso una grande occasione per farsi ricordare. E non me ne faccio una ragione che un uomo che ha pilotato fior di campioni, FRANK WARREN abbia avuto una reazione così “ignorante”. Invece di congratularsi davanti ad una vittoria così netta.

Con il pugilato non si gioca, per vincere ci si attiene alle regole. E finito il match si riconosce quanto l’arbitro e i giudici hanno determinato con il loro risultato. Ci si abbraccia e si riconosce il valore della sfida.

Entrambi hanno rischiato la vita e l’arbitro non è solo uno che regola i punteggi, ma verifica che nel match ci siano azioni regolari.

Il colpo basso nella boxe non è un colpo regolare, e non deve essere così basso da arrivare ai testicoli, ma si intende appunto sotto la cintura e come si vede dal filmato allegato DUBOIS ha colpito USYK proprio sotto la cintura.

Del resto la posta in gioco sono il rispetto, una borsa piena di quattrini e certo i trofei.  É in guerra che non ci sono regole, il risultato sono morte e distruzione. La posta in gioco è la Libertà, la Giustizia, la Democrazia. Come hanno rappresentato i Soldati entrati in conferenza stampa.

Mi aspettavo da DANIEL DUBOIS un finale di fair play, un abbraccio, una stretta di mano nel riconoscere il campione OLEKSANDR USYK, così non è stato. Questo momento così arido non l’avevo previsto. É rarissimo che nella boxe non ci sia il riconoscimento dell’uomo migliore.

Ma già con il britannico JOSHUA scuderia di EDDIE HERNIE nel dopo match, quando JOSHUA ha perso sul ring di Jeddah vs USYK lo scorso agosto 2022, avevamo avuto un assaggio di mancanza di fair play da parte degli avversari inglesi, infatti JOSHUA aveva avuto parole imbarazzanti dopo il match, tanto da chiedersi perchè qualcuno del suo Team non è intervenuto a togliergli il microfono- per il suo bene- aveva mostrato tutta l’immaturità di essere un vero protagonista della Nobile Arte. Solo giorni dopo ha inviato farfugliate scuse,

E così DUBOIS questa notte non solo sul Ring ma non presentandosi in conferenza stampa ha mostrato la sua inadeguatezza a essere un protagonista.

Peccato perché le regole del pugilato moderno sono nate proprio nel Regno Unito e sono chiamate appunto le Regole del Marchese di Queensburry, e il nome dell’organizzazione di FRANK WARREN si chiama appunto Queensburry e non colpire sotto la cintura è tra tutte la più evidente, spesso usata anche nel parlare comune, ad indicare un colpo molto scorretto.

Infine, fammelo scrivere USYK è un vero amabasciatore e un modello per gli Uomini.

Il match tra gli undercard che più mi ha sorpreso è stato tra i Pesi Medi, l’ucraino FIORDOR CZERKASYN vs il congolese ANAUEL NGAMISSENGUE. L’imbattuto ucraino, residente in Polonia ha perso per la prima volta vs il congolese che vive a Parigi, il quale ha inflitto un 3° e 4° round spettacolari, mettendo in Knock Down l’ucraino, davvero un bel match serrato sulle otto riprese.

Il congolese di lingua francese, imbattuto con 13 match, di cui 8 via KO, cerca un organizzatore o sarà costretto a retrocedere nei dilettanti per partecipare alle Olimpiadi di Parigi 2024. Per il Congo. Credo non sia giusto che un tale pugile Pro 27enne, di talento ed esperto debba partecipare alle Olimpiadi tra i neofiti e certo deve trovarsi un organizzatore che meriti il livello di questa bella sorpresa di questa sera.

Poi ancora, l’inglese HAMZAH SHEERAZ vs. l’ucraino DMYTRO MYTROFANOV per il titolo Pesi Medi WBC Silver, sui 12 rounds. Il britannico alla quarta difesa della Cintura WBC Silver si è confermato, fermando l’avversario al 2° round. Il nostro Massimo Barrovecchio ha arbitrato egregiamente senza bisogno d’interventi.

L’ucraino, DENYS BERINCHYK vs. lo svedese ANTHONY YIGIT per il titolo dei Pesi Leggeri sui 12 rounds per la Cintura WBO. DENYS si è presentato con un tridente al collo a testimoniare il suo sostegno ai soldati ucraini, sul ring ha strenuamente difeso per la seconda volta la Cintura WBO, vincendo ai punti l’ottimo svedese YIGIT.

Il mio plauso va anche all’organizzazione K2 Promotion dei Fratelli Klitschko, ha fatto un lavoro di perfetto coordinamento per ogni campione che è salito sul ring e per il suo team. Questa arena, il Tarczyriski Stadion a Wroclaw, si conferma tra le arene del mondo più qualificate per ospitare i grandi eventi in Europa. L’efficienza del personale e della sicurezza per una tale capienza di 50.000 persone sono stati impeccabili.

L’unica difficoltà è la lingua, più polacchi addetti dovrebbero conoscere l’inglese, per condividere le informazioni e le emozioni. Per me una settimana indimenticabile a tanto prezioso lavoro.

 USYK vs DUBOIS the fight and after the fight

It’s 3 o’clock in the morning, I leave the Tarczyriski Stadion in Wroclaw, the only person of Italian nationality accredited to cover the event, it happened to me very often and moreover with the awareness of having made the analysis of the prediction of victory via KO or even via TKO which USYK confirmed.

I anticipated that the DUBOIS challenger would have “to deal in the ring with such class, technical mastery, intelligence and motivation… and in the ring only one man would be seen waving the Ukrainian flag” And so it was.

In the 9th round, USYK stopped with a spectacular KO finishing the combination that started in the 8th round.

The result was determined by the referee and supported by the judges, all seasoned experts with decades of experience in the best rings in the world: Referee: Luis Pabon.

Then the anthem of the United Kingdom. Then a confident female voice sang the anthem of Ukraine. The rain started lightly then in an almost liberating downpour on the shoulders of most of those present covered by the yellow-blue flag of Ukraine. The flag encloses, covers, and protects…

USYK is confirmed as an all-time great.

I rejoiced like all lovers of great and beautiful boxing. USYK embodies the Noble Art, confirming Lomachenko’s talent, and continuing the precious legacy of the Klitschko Brothers.

Tonight I was reminded of Massimo Barrovecchio by our Italian referee and the great German organizer of Hamburg, Berd Bonte, one of the greats in the world who led the careers of the  Brothers and VITALI and WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO for 18 years. Both with nostalgia in the memory of the success of that extraordinary night, it happened 12 years ago, right here on September 10th, 2011 they inaugurated this same arena of the Tarczyriski Stadion with an impressive event. Both were certain that tonight would be repeated.

And so it was the arena was filled with 50,000 people, mostly Ukrainians whose pugnacity proud and so defender of freedom, Independence, for Democracy. But I must also say countless from the UK and of course from Poland, so media from all over the world.

OLEKSANDR USYK is managing greatness and popularity as an ordinary man, he doesn’t forget to declare his love to his wife Catherine and their children and return to the Ukrainian soldiers in the trenches. Man who has nothing trivial. He is a great athlete who doesn’t live the ring as a “star” but as a Fighter, as a Fighter of the Ring, and with those boxing rules his mind generates reasoning that we are unable to predict.

The Ukrainians shouted to USYK,  their hero of the ring to support heroes in war.

Who better than a soldier in the trenches such as USYK tonight could pay homage to his victory in the ring of this Polish night, the best dedication for his nation, for Ukraine?

In constant motion “the Ukrainian Cossack“, athletic at a fast pace won with his insistent jab and repeated heavy blows, and at the same time dodging, darting, sliding, swaying left and right, and cashing little, because there were no worthy lunges of note by the British DUBOIS. An athlete at the mercy of the Englishman’s waves that crashed on his strong body, athletically very prepared and convinced of himself.

DUBOIS, on the other hand, made a “fight” match of those outside English pubs, where after the third pint of beer, anything goes. This was DUBOIS’s plan.

Knowing full well that he couldn’t defeat the Ukrainian athletically and boxingly, he threw dirty punches. And his clumsy attempts from the beginning have repeatedly hit (legs and butt), making the Ukrainian respond with funny gestures to ask what his intentions were … this happened before the low blow in the 5th round, which forced the referee Luis Pabon the stop, to ensure that USYK recovered.

The Ukrainian accused that low blow, below the belt, in the full belt, and for an infinity time he trembled on the canvas, in about four minutes he recovered.

The low blow was immediately evident to me, the replay confirmed. Below the navel it’s low blow and just below is the waist where the belt of the shorts is wrapped. It’s a textbook.

The referee Luis Pabon, is in his 548th fight, he previously refereed the 2nd victorious fight for the Ukrainian, the match of USYK vs JOSHUA. In tonight’s ring, after that illegal blow, he insisted on conciliation, inviting DUBOIS to touch USYK’s glove. There was no way the Briton showed any sign of fair play.

DUBOIS’ attempts to fight continued for the other two rounds until in the 8th round under the barrage of USYK, the British fell to the mat in Knock Down and was saved in extremis by the ringing of the bell at the end of the round. In the 9th round, OLEKSANDR USYK ended his performance as an immense Fighter via KO.

USYK dominated the ring for all rounds, or almost saved maybe a couple of minutes of round 4th…with such concentration and such control of the ring, and then with that look of his, he completely mesmerized the opponent. DUBOIS walked around him while USYK forced him to look at him…

On the result of the fight, as far as I’m concerned, no surprises.

Instead, what embittered me was the skit from an “old fox” such as the Englishman FRANK WARREN, a senior promoter recognized by me in recent years as the best promoter in the world, paired with the American giant BOB ARUM, who for the United Kingdom represents both DANIEL DUBOIS and TYSON FURY, I was saying in the press conference, he presented himself with the DUBOIS trainer, DON CHARLES who whined that his boy will now have repercussions for this missed win, in which he believed, and backed up WARREN who spewed falsehoods on the non-existence of that very evident “low blow” taking us all for idiots and threatening to ask the WBA – World Boxing Association – of which DUBOIS was before the defeat, regular holder of the WBA belt, to ask for the result of no -contest and thus be able to achieve the rematch…

None of the media from around the world had anything to ask to WARREN.

Except the British media present.

The sadness is seeing the obsession with which the increasingly invasive British media have magnetized the subject of the low blow that only they didn’t want to see. It’s appropriate to say, the boss doesn’t admit to being contradicted…

Out of scruples, I turned to an English DOCG (of controlled and guaranteed origin), that I got to know at the great ringside of the world and I consider a great boxing connoisseur, Mr. Powell, and he confirmed to me that DUBOIS hit USYK with a “low blow“.

Yet with such advanced technology it’s enough to make a replay in slow motion, on any mobile phone … but also 10, 100, 1000 replays and get over it that what you see was, it was a low blow.

If the referee saw it in the first place, why deny so much evidence and experience from one who also comes from Puerto Rico on the other side of the world?

The conclusion at the press conference was made by USYK entering the hall after the anti-doping check, with such a long queue of people and with an impeccable security service, explaining by lifting his shirt showing his navel and his waist where the belt is positioned. He said he was ready for a rematch without shorts, naked…

USYK hasn’t stopped signing autographs these days, and not even tonight.

Ten minutes from the end of the press conference, the Ukrainian soldiers entered bearing the wounds, the mutilations of the tragedy in Ukraine. They came to celebrate USYK their hero of the night. Discreet, orderly they raised their flags.

USYK joined them and shouted a patriotic cry to which the soldiers responded just as vehemently. And then that cry of pride that we all recognize as “Glory to Ukraine“. Of course, with that cry, I joined them.

Now USYK retaining all the Belts already conquered, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, tonight confirmed himself as an immense Heavyweight, before on DUBOIS, he won twice, starting as an underdog, winning widely on points over the British compatriot of DUBOIS, ANTHONY JOSHUA.

I must say that USYK has decimated the English boxers, who have also been offered that rude CHISORA who has made his dirty boxing into his style… loser.

The Briton in his fourth defense of his WBC Silver Belt confirmed himself, stopping his opponent in the 2nd round. Our Massimo Barrovecchio refereed very well without the need for interventions.

The Ukrainian, DENYS BERINCHYK vs. Swede ANTHONY YIGIT for the 12-round Lightweight title for the WBO Belt. DENYS showed up with a trident around his neck to testify his support for the Ukrainian soldiers, in the ring he strenuously defended his WBO belt for the second time, beating the excellent Swedish YIGIT on points.

My applause also goes to the Klitschko Brothers’ organization K2 Promotion, they did a perfect coordination job for every champion who entered the ring and for his team. This arena, the Tarczyriski Stadion in Wroclaw, is confirmed as one of the most qualified arenas in the world to host major events in Europe. The efficiency of the staff and security for such a capacity of 50,000 people was impeccable.

The only difficulty is the language, more Polish staff should know English, to share information and emotions.
