TOKYO 2020 onta sulla Boxe Olimpica. La Federazione Francese emarginata!

DOMINIQUE NATO, Presidente della Federazione Pugilistica Francese, stamani ha rilasciato sulla sua pagina FaceBook il comunicato stampa del rigetto della revisione per squalifica del suo pugile francese, Peso Super Massimo + 91Kg MOURAD ALIEV.

“Come temevamo, il ricorso presentato alla Corte Arbitrale dello Sport (TAS) dalla FFBOXE e dal CNOSF chiedendo la revisione della decisione di sconfitta ingiusta dell nostro pugile Mourad Aliev è stato respinto! Vorrei ringraziare il Comitato Olimpico e Sportivo Nazionale Francese, il suo Dipartimento Legale e il suo Presidente Brigitte Henriques per il pieno sostegno dato al nostro pugile e alla nostra Federazione in questo processo che purtroppo non ha avuto successo.

Questa è per noi la fine dei Giochi Olimpici, che saranno stati catastrofici per la nostra squadra in termini di risultati. Dobbiamo ancora analizzare le cause esatte di questo fallimento e passare molto rapidamente alla preparazione per le Olimpiadi di Parigi del 2024 dove faremo di tutto per trovare risultati significativi all’altezza delle ambizioni della nostra Federazione! -Dominique Nato-“

Cosa è successo sul ring?

Lo scorso 31 Luglio, domenica, match valevole per i quarti di finale, tra i Super Massimi, Il francese MOURAD ALIEV vs il britannico, FRAZER CLARKE. Tutte le speranze della boxe francese risiedono in Mourad Aliev capace di “strappare” una medaglia nei Pesi Super Massimi.

Al 1° round il britannico aveva già subito lieve punizione dal francese alle arcate sopraccigliari. Tutto regolare.

Nel 2° round domina ancora MOURAD, il francese colpisce l’avversario con i pugni non con le testate, ma sembra che l’arbitro abbia visto delle testate da parte del francese, e l’arbitro Andrew Mustacchio, a pochi secondi della fine del secondo round di tre, fa intervenire il medico che fa fermare il match a pochi secondi dalla fine e squalifica ALIEV…così sono sicuri che il francese non potrà continuare!

Subito il dissenso: ALIEV si è seduto a bordo del ring, appena fuori dalle corde in segno di protesta, per oltre 30′, ricordando una delle ribellioni della Corea del Sud durante i Giochi di Seoul del 1988.

“Mi sono allenato tutta la mia vita per questa occasione, e per decisione errata di un arbitro ho perso”.

Il regolamento dice che quando si interrompe un combattimento, l’arbitro deve prendere la decisione.

É così deluso JON DOVI, allenatore della squadra maschile francese dettaglia: “Non possiamo tornare sui nostri passi in seguito alla verifica del medico. Questo è ciò che ha sorpreso. I supervisori della competizione dovevano vedere. Hanno guardato al video più volte l’incontro e si sono resi conto che non c’era colpa di MOURAD ALIEV. Sono venuti a dirci che erano dispiaciuti e che l’arbitro ha commesso un errore e non avrebbe dovuto squalificarlo. Ci hanno detto che non c’era niente che potessero fare, non possiamo cambiare la decisione”.

Mi è venuto subito in mente, un match che all’epoca degli anni migliori di mio padre, Giancarlo Garbelli, fece gran clamore: Garbelli vs Vernaglione. La vicenda è molto simile a questa, solo che invece di una match dilettanti si trattò di un match professionisti, e invece di una testata, mio padre dovette subire il verdetto dell’arbitro per un colpo basso che il medico fu costretto a constatare…se leggi o ascolti il mio audio libro è esilarante…ma come si conviene nella Boxe Pro, ci fu il rematch che ribaltò la vergognosa decisione.

Per conto mio, dopo aver tanto ricercato e denunciato su queste mie stesse pagine del mio Blog per anni, è deludente constatare che il pugilato dilettanti alle Olimpiadi, governato dall’AIBA, sta perdendo ogni credibilità. Nonostante i nuovi vertici. Ma con il solo rinnovo dei vertici non si estirpa un malaffare…

È vergognoso per la disciplina della Boxe! Purtroppo torniamo sempre al problema dell’arbitrato difettoso… Questo stesso arbitrato che allontanerà sempre più i giovani dal pugilato, perché l’AIBA non é in grado di offrire una reale alternativa, a decisioni così incongrue come questa. Ci vuole gente appassionata, competente, pulita e che ha a cuore i giovani consapevoli che domani saranno uomini, atleti professionisti sotto i riflettori del mondo. A lor volta esempio per i giovani che avanzano.

Fa male alla boxe, sono le giovani speranze che perdono.

E nemmeno dopo l’ammissione dell’errore di giudizio dell’arbitro, nulla han potuto i vertici della Federazione Francese e il suo apparato legale e sportivo.

É certo che bisogna intervenire sulle norme del regolamento alquanto discutibile…

Gli arbitri non sono degli intoccabili. E con questa ulteriore ingiustizia, lo confermano. É lo stesso pugilato tutto che perde. Senza i dilettanti non ci sono i professionisti.

La vittoria della corruzione non aumenta il valore di nessun pugile. Nel professionismo non hai possibilità d’inganno. Almeno sono così rari i verdetti corrotti che il rumore che fanno lo senti come una tempesta!

Nonostante sia stata data piena fiducia alla nuova Presidenza dell’AIBA, solo un mese fa circa, credo che DOMINIQUE NATO abbia sopratutto molto da fare per rimettere in riga il settore pugilistico per la Francia e di conseguenza tutte le nazioni partecipanti ai nuovi Giochi di Parigi 2024! Va fatto un ribaltone.

Trasparenza nelle decisioni arbitrali.

Un mio suggerimento che mi sta a cuore da sempre, e credo condivisibile con tutti gli allenatori dei giovani e certo questi che si affacciano ai Giochi Olimpici per lo sport del Pugilato: il ritorno obbligatorio del caschetto.

Nel pugilato dilettantistico il combattimento è intenso perché dura solo 3 round di 3′ ciascuno, nove minuti in tutto e c’è urgenza di fare punteggio. Ed è comunque quasi impossibile, tra dilettanti evitare scontri di testa. Le Olimpiadi del pugilato sono per giovani dilettanti e non hanno la familiarità, la confidenza dei professionisti. E spesso fanno caos sul ring. Difficile se non impossibile vedere tutti i colpi puliti.

E comunque un buon arbitro, vede immediatamente se c’è testata intenzionale o accidentale!

E così tra i dilettanti, quindi inesperti, ci sono troppi tagli, lividi e testate che aumentano il rischio di commozione cerebrale, dunque che ritorni il caschetto obbligatorio per gli uomini come lo è per le donne da quando le Olimpiadi si sono aperte dal 2016 anche al pugilato dilettantistico femminile.

É chiaro che sino ad oggi, la Francia del Pugilato è stata espulsa dalla possibilità di chi merita tra gli atleti, di “strappare” quel trofeo di Gloria che permette di entrare con slancio nei professionisti.

E non ho nessun interesse a difendere a spada tratta una nazione, la Francia, che non è la mia nazione in nessun modo, ma per il mio innato distinguo ad essere più oggettiva possibile, nei miei scritti, nella mia documentazione e così narrazione dei fatti. E come sempre riporto anche dei grandi match pro, intendo la Grande Boxe, a cui sono accreditata, i campioni di Boxe sono merce così fina e rara che davvero non m’importa di quale nazione nascono, o appartengono…Voglio che la Boxe dilettanti come quella professionisti rimanga pulita!

Un suggerimento che non vuole essere in nessun modo consolatorio, è vero e di questo si tratta, Il pugilato olimpico offre uno sguardo al futuro di chi potrebbe brillare nei ranghi professionali, ma il fallimento ai Giochi non vuol dire in nessun modo, mancanza di successo nel mondo dei professionisti! Anzi. Il dilettantismo è una fase giovanile come significa la parola stessa: ciò che conta è quando diventi professionista.

E così per qualsiasi professione nel mondo. Da praticante si diventa medico, o avvocato e così via…la Boxe non ha in nessun modo la sua esaltazione alle Olimpiadi. Ma è solo un trampolino di lancio per misurati davvero nei professionisti sui 12 round e senza caschetto e né canottiera!

La grande Boxe pro, ha nomi altisonanti che non sono passati dalle Olimpiadi, ma hanno fatto un normalissimo tracciato nei dilettanti e poi il passaggio pro vedi Manny Pacquiao, Marvin Hagler, Julio Cesar Chavez sr, Saul “canelo” Alvarez, Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko… E le donne Cecilia Braekhus, Amanda Serrano, Cristy Martin, Ann J Wolfe…e un infinità di etc….

E allora MOURAD ALIEV è il momento, adesso, quello giusto per contattare BOB ARUM – Top Rank per far parte della sua organizzazione a Los Angeles. Non farti portar via gli anni migliori…lascia che se la sbrighi DOMINIQUE NATO e il suo staff, perché, L’OLIMPIADE DI PARIGI 2024 sia la rinascita della gioventù della Boxe Olimpica Francese e non solo of course!

Ho vissuto personalmente tutto il dramma di Alex Vastine, promettente ai Giochi di Beijing 2008, e poi Londra 2012, il Golden Boy di Francia, il nuovo Oscar de La Hoya…Un susseguirsi di tragedie. E nessuno vuole più vedere bruciare così validi giovani talenti!

Questo malaffare é iniziato a Seoul 1988, i vertici degli Arbitri AIBA – associazione internazionale pugilato amatoriale- devono trovare una soluzione. La vittoria deve essere per i Pugili che la meritano… che vincono.

Un esempio eclatante alle Olimpiadi di Seoul nel 1988:

L’americano Roy Jones, giovane dilettante estroverso medio-leggero con un ottimo gancio sinistro, ha perso in finale contro Park Si Hun della Corea del Sud, che ha vinto nei cartellini di tre dei cinque giudici.
Secondo l’opinione di altri giudici di boxe che guardavano a bordo ring, e dato il numero di ganci che Jones ha sferrato a piacimento sul lato destro della faccia di Park, la decisione è apparsa subito, ciò che noi gente di boxe chiamiamo, una decisione della casa organizzatrice!
Un tocco ironico
Ironia della sorte, Jones è stato votato pugile eccezionale delle Olimpiadi 1988 sia dai giudici che dagli arbitri che lavoravano all’Olimpiade.

E poi nei professionisti, Roy Jones, è stata incontrastata super-star del grande boxe per oltre 20 anni…! Hai invece mai sentito parlare di Park Si Hun?

E chi ha vissuto tutto questo nelle Olimpiadi è certamente DOMINIQUE NATO, appena nominato Presidente della Federazione Francese con i Giochi Olimpici a Parigi 2024, sono sicura, sicurissima che farà quadrare il cerchio. Forte di tutti queste ingiustizie subite.

In casa sua, DOMINIQUE NATO si farà in ogni modo rispettare, alle OLIMPIADI di PARIGI 2024 non si potrà giocare con i sacrifici dei giovani pugili che si espongono alle Olimpiadi, ma tutti i pugili dovranno combattere e avere risultati chiari e netti!

E così si volterà davvero pagina.

TOKYO 2020 shame on Olympics. Boxing French Federation outcast!

DOMINIQUE NATO, President of the French Boxing Federation, this morning released on his FaceBook page the press release of the rejection of the review for disqualification of his French boxer, Super Heavy Weight + 91Kg MOURAD ALIEV.

“As we feared, the appeal filed to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (TAS) by the FFBOXE and the CNOSF asking for the review of the unfair defeat decision of our boxer Mourad Aliev was rejected! I would like to thank the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, its Department Legal and its President Brigitte Henriques for the full support given to our boxer and our Federation in this process which unfortunately was not successful.

This is for us the end of the Olympic Games, which will have been catastrophic for our team in terms of results. We still have to analyze the exact causes of this failure and move very quickly to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics where we will do everything to find meaningful results that match our Federation’s ambitions! -Dominique Nato- “

What happened in the ring?

Last July 31, Sunday, a fight valid for the quarter-finals, between the Super Heavy Weight, the French MOURAD ALIEV vs the British FRAZER CLARKE. All the hopes of French boxing lie in Mourad Aliev capable of “snatching” a medal in the Super Heavyweight.

In the 1st round, the British had already suffered a slight punishment from the French in the eyebrows. Everything is regular.

In the 2nd round MOURAD still dominates, the Frenchman hits the opponent with his fists not with the head, but it seems that the referee Andrew Mustacchio has seen some headbutts from the Frenchman, and the referee a few seconds before the end of the second round of three, calls the doctor who stops the fight a few seconds from the end and disqualifies ALIEV … so they are sure that the Frenchman will not be able to continue!

Dissent immediately: ALIEV sat at the edge of the ring, just off the ropes in protest, for over 30′, recalling one of the South Korean rebellions during the 1988 Seoul Games.

“I have trained all my life for this occasion, and by a wrong decision of a referee I lost.”

The rules say that when a fight is stopped, the referee must make the decision.

JON DOVI, coach of the French men’s team is so disappointed and details: “We can’t retrace our steps following the doctor’s check. This is what surprised me. The competition supervisors had to see. They watched the video several times the fight and they realized it wasn’t MOURAD ALIEV’s fault. They came to tell us they were sorry and that the referee made a mistake and shouldn’t have disqualified him. They told us there was nothing they could do, we cannot change the decision “.

A blast from the past: It immediately came to mind, a fight that at the time of my father’s best, Giancarlo Garbelli, caused a great stir: Garbelli vs Vernaglione. The story is very similar to this one, except that instead of an amateur match, it was a professional match, and instead of a header, my father had to suffer the referee’s verdict for a low blow that the doctor was forced to ascertain .. .if you read or listen to my audiobook it’s hilarious … but as befits Boxing Pro, there was the rematch that overturned the shameful decision.

For my part, after having researched and reported so much on these very pages of my Blog for years, it’s disappointing to see that amateur boxing at the Olympics, governed by AIBA, is losing all credibility. Despite the new leaders. But with the mere renewal of the top management, malfeasance cannot be eradicated …

It’s shameful for the discipline of Boxing! Unfortunately, we always return to the problem of faulty arbitration … This same arbitration will increasingly distance young people from boxing because AIBA is unable to offer a real alternative to such incongruous decisions like this. It takes people who are passionate, competent, clean, and who care about young people who are aware that tomorrow they will be men, and professional athletes in the spotlight of the world. In turn, an example for the young people who are advancing.

It’s bad for boxing, it’s the young hopes that lose.

And even after the admission of the referee’s error of judgment, the leaders of the French Federation and its legal and sporting apparatus could do nothing.

It’s certain that we must intervene on the rules of the somewhat questionable regulation …

Referees aren’t untouchables. And with this further injustice, they confirm it. It’s the same boxing all that loses. Without amateurs, there are no professionals.

The victory of corruption does not increase the value of any boxer. In professionalism, you have no possibility of deception. Or corrupt verdicts are so rare that the noise they make feels like a storm!

Although full confidence was given to the new AIBA Presidency, only about a month ago, I believe that DOMINIQUE NATO above all has a lot to do to put the boxing sector in line for France and consequently all the nations participating in the new Paris Games 2024! A reversal must be made.

Transparency in arbitration decisions.

One of my suggestions that has always been close to my heart, and I believe can be shared with all the coaches of young people and certainly those who are looking forward to the Olympic Games for the sport of Boxing: the mandatory return of the headgear.

In amateur boxing, the fight is intense because it only lasts 3 rounds of 3 ‘each, nine minutes in all and there is an urgent need to score. And it is still almost impossible, between amateurs to avoid head-to-head clashes. The boxing Olympics are for young amateurs who do not have the familiarity, and the confidence of professionals. And they often wreak havoc in the ring. Difficult if not impossible to see all clean shots.

And anyway, a good referee immediately sees if there is an intentional or accidental headbutt!

And so among amateurs, therefore inexperienced, there are too many cuts, bruises and butt heads that increase the risk of concussion so the mandatory headgear for men returns as it is for women since the Olympics opened in 2016 also to amateur boxing females.

It’s clear that until now, France Boxing has been expelled from the chance of those who deserve it among athletes, to “snatch” that Glory trophy that allows them to enter the professionals with enthusiasm.

And I have no interest in defending a nation, France, which is not my nation in any way, but for my innate distinction, I am as objective as possible, in my writings, in my documentation, and thus narration of the facts. And as always I also report about great pro fights, I mean Great Boxing. And boxing champions are such fine and rare material that I really don’t care which nation they are born, or belong to … I want Boxing amateurs like that pros stay clean!

A suggestion that is not meant to be in any way consoling, it is true and this is it, Olympic boxing offers a glimpse into the future of who could shine in the professional ranks, but failure at the Games doesn’t in any way mean, a lack of success. in the world of professionals! On the contrary. Amateurism is a juvenile stage as the word itself means: what matters is when you become professional.

And so for any profession in the world. From a practitioner, you become a doctor or a lawyer, and so on … Boxing in no way has its elation at the Olympics. But it’s just a springboard to really measure yourself in the pros on 12 rounds without a headgear or tank top!

The great boxing pro has high-sounding names that have not passed since the Olympics, but have made a normal track in the amateurs and then the pro pass sees Manny Pacquiao, Marvin Hagler, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko … And women Cecilia Braekhus, Amanda Serrano, Cristy Martin, Ann J Wolfe… an infinity of etc …

An ironic touch
Ironically, Jones was voted Outstanding Boxer of the 1988 Olympics by both the judges and referees who worked at the Olympics.

And then in the pros, Roy Jones has been the undisputed super-star of great boxing for over 20 years …! Have you ever heard of Park Si Hun instead?

And who has lived it all in the Olympics is certainly DOMINIQUE NATO, just appointed President of the French Federation with the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, I am sure, very sure that it will square the circle. Strengthened by all these injustices suffered.

In his home, DOMINIQUE NATO will be respected in every way, at the 2024 PARIS OLYMPICS you will not be able to play with the sacrifices of young boxers who expose themselves to the Olympics, but all boxers will have to fight and have clear and clean results!
