Stanotte DEVIN HANEY vs RYAN GARCIA titolo Pesi Super Leggeri WBC

L’americano di San Francisco DEVIN HANEY, imbattuto con 31 match, di cui 15 via KO, in palio la cintura WBC dei Pesi Super Leggeri, solo l’anno scorso era Peso Leggero.

Eh sì a 25 anni si cresce ancora e la fame HANEY ce l’ha! Di più l’ambizione che gli ha trasmesso il grandissimo ucraino VASYL LOMACHENKO, in un match serrato che gli ha regalato un punteggio che io avevo visto tutto per LOMACHENKO. Non solo io ovviamente.

Ma quando i Pesi più piccoli superano i 35 anni, gli organizzatori non li ritengono più appetibili, e LOMACHENKO oggi ne ha 36 di anni, specialmente se si fa avanti un giovane di casa, determinato che ha mostrato valenza in quel dell’Australia con due vittorie consecutive sull’ottimo pugile di casa, GEORGE KAMBOSOS, dopo averle conquistate proprio da TEOFIMO LOPEZ di Brooklyn che le conquistò proprio da VASYL LOMACHENKO.

E HANEY lo scorso dicembre 2023, si è confermato vs REGIS PROGRAIS in una perfomance in una messa a fuoco, talmente brillante, colpi precisi dentro e fuori e un incessante movimento di gambe, e steso in Knock Down ben due volte. HANEY si è confermato di ottima fattura!

E dunque RYAN GARCIA, star dei Social… alle spalle la GOLDEN BOY PROMOTION di OSCAR DE LA HOYA, con 25 match di cui 20 via KO e uno perso via KO, forse ha pensato che quel trofeo WBC dei Pesi Super Leggeri è alla sua portata.

E dunque questa sera sul ring del Barclays Center di Brooklyn cercherà, ma non riuscirà a dominare DEVIN HANEY. Per HANEY è solo un altro match di difesa della Cintura WBC strappata nella notte dello scorso maggio 2023 all’ucraino che non aveva in nessun modo perso. Ma scommettere sui giovani è prassi per gli investitori di boxe nei Pesi più piccoli.

Ho visto negare contratti a grandi campioni del Ring non appena il calendario segnava il 35esimo anno.

RYAN GARCIA, 25 anni di Los Angeles, evidente messicano/americano con nessun titolo, non è questo il punto, nella boxe non è sempre stato necessario un trofeo, per dimostare il valore, ma RYAN GARCIA ha una tale irritante ridicola strafottenza, che lo riesco solo a vederlo perdente.

Se poi penso alla classe del suo organizzatore OSCAR DE LA HOYA, quando egli stesso Campione dei Pesi Welter, incantava con il suo fair play e determinazione sul ring, vinto o perso; e tale umiltà in conferenza stampa prima e dopo il match, affascinando non solo i media presenti, ma milioni di ragazzi in tutto il mondo ad ogni evento.

Il Golden Boy d’America, subito amato non appena nel 1992 vince le Olimpiadi di Barcellona, diventa una mega star con il sapiente lavoro di TOP RANK, e miniera d’oro per il suo organizzatore BOB ARUM.

OSCAR DE LA HOYA un Campione che si è imposto nei Pro, non ha evitato nessuno. Nemmeno le tante ragazze…Così affascinate dal bel OSCAR, dalla sua voce dal tono caldo, le parole scelte per identificarsi nella sua conquista o il perché della sua sconfitta, comunque sedotte, non so quante esattamente, ma tante…tante.

Insomma, caro OSCAR vedo più reale una possibile conquista per la tua organizzazione il prossimo Cinco de Mayo, quest’anno sarà il 4 di maggio, tra il campione della tua scuderia, MUNGUIA vs CANELO, che non questa notte di Brooklyn, HANEY vs GARCIA.

BERNARD HOPKINS che ha sempre sostenuto il suo prima rivale sul ring, poi amico e oggi socio nell’impresa di OSCAR DE LA HOYA, dovrebbe avere più polso, imporsi sul quel ragazzino RYAN GARCIA tanto arrogante. Lui sì che potrebbe, saprebbe metterlo in riga…se c’è una cosa che non è mai mancata a BERNARD HOPKINS è saper sferzare con le parole oltre che sul ring!

Non ho dubbi, HANEY onorerà LOMACHENKO, vincendo in modo netto e risoluto. HANEY Via KO! LOMACHENKO se ha dovuto subire una sconfitta ingiusta vs HANEY, da questa notte gli sembrerà meno pesante.

GARCIA ha reso euforici i suoi Promoter OSCAR DE LA HOYA & BERNAD HOPKINS

E il peso conta! Salito sulla bilancia a Kg 65,500, RYAN GARCIA almeno 2 Kg in più, ma l’accordo tra i due c’era tutto con anche una penale da pagare di 1 milione e mezzo. E così contro ogni previsione l’uomo più pesante, RYAN GARCIA è il migliore, e questa notte sul ring di Brooklyn, vince la più inverosimile delle vittorie, con ben tre Knock Down.

L’occhio di HANEY è davvero brutto, dovrà stare a riposo per un bel po’. E nel frattempo ripensare alla strategia di come rimettersi in gara. Non è stato l’HANEY che mi aspettavo, non è stato veloce, poca potenza, senza agressività, nessun dominio del ring, insomma senza nessuna strategia se non quella di subire…I punteggi dei giudici, per il giovane leone RYAN GARCIA sono 112-112, 114-110 e 115-109. Quel pareggio di uno dei giudici non convince affatto!

In ogni caso, GARCIA non restando dentro il peso della categoria dei Super Leggeri, DEVIN HANEY rimane il campione della Cintura WBC. Le categorie di peso, lo scrivo spesso ci sono per una ragione…

Se RYAN GARCIA prende la via della disciplina di HOPKINS e va a lezione di fair play da DE LA HOYA, dopo questa notte, ha un futuro scintillante!

Tonight DEVIN HANEY vs RYAN GARCIA WBC’s Belt Super Lightweight

The American from San Francisco DEVIN HANEY, undefeated with 31 fights, 15 of which via KO, is up for grabs for the WBC Super Lightweight belt. Only last year he was Lightweight.

Oh yes, at 25 you still grow and HANEY is hungry! Even more the ambition that the great Ukrainian VASYL LOMACHENKO gave him, in a close fight that gave him a score that I had seen all for LOMACHENKO. Not just me.

But when the smaller weights exceed 35 years of age, the promoters no longer consider them attractive. LOMACHENKO is now 36 years old, especially as a determined young homegrown fighter who showed his worth in Australia with two consecutive victories over the excellent home fighter, GEORGE KAMBOSOS, after having won all the belts from TEOFIMO LOPEZ of Brooklyn, who won them from VASYL LOMACHENKO.

And HANEY last December 2023, confirmed himself against REGIS PROGRAIS in a performance so focused, so brilliant, with precise shots inside and outside and a continuous movement of legs, and knocked out in Knock Down twice. HANEY proved to be of excellent workmanship!

And weight matters! Having entered the scales at 143,5 lbs, RYAN GARCIA was at least lbs 1,5 more, but the agreement between the two was complete with a penalty of 1 and a half million to be paid. And so against all odds, the heaviest man, RYAN GARCIA is the best, and tonight in the ring in Brooklyn, he wins the most unlikely of victories, with three Knock-Downs.

HANEY’s eye is really bad, he will have to rest for quite a while. And in the meantime, rethink the strategy of how to get back into the race. It wasn’t the HANEY I expected, it wasn’t fast, had little power, no aggressiveness, no dominance of the ring, in short, without any strategy other than to lose…The judges’ scores for the young lion RYAN GARCIA are 112-112, 114-110 and 115-109.
