Questa sera, VASYL LOMACHENKO, Ucraina 20 match di cui 17 vinti, 11 via KO, persi 3. L’immenso LOMA combatterà vs il figlio dell’Australia, GEORGE KAMBOSOS jr. per il titolo vacante IBF dei Pesi Leggeri, alla RAC Arena di Perth, nell’Australia occidentale.
Ad accompagnare VASYL LOMACHENKO in questa trasferta nel Nuovo Mondo il più grande organizzatore di pugilato di sempre, BOB ARUM, 92 anni.

Non sono certa che abbia tutto-tutto il pubblico per lui, perché quando c’è un avversario così blasonato quale l’ucraino, anche i fan più entusiasti sanno che il talento di LOMACHENKO può rendere orgogliosi anche se la prova di KAMBOSOS non andrà come si augurano.
Gioco di gambe forsennato, velocità, colpi precisi di un mancino perfetto, è la cifra di LOMACHENKO.
All’angolo di KAMBOSOS c’è LOU DIBELLA. Ottimo promoter newyorchese di origine italiana, una lunga storia nella boxe americana.
L’ucraino, LOMA 36 anni, è stato Campione del Mondo in tre categorie: Pesi Leggeri, Pesi Super Piuma e Piuma e strepitoso dilettante, nei Pesi Piuma, con due Medaglie d’Oro Olimpiadi di Pechino 2008 e Londra 2012.
Chi mi segue sa che qui mi ripeto: LOMA ha fatto solo un errore nella sua carriera, uno sbaglio non da poco, è sbarcato in USA dal mitico BOB ARUM e la sua Top Rank, troppo tardi.
In questa prossima notte d’inizio inverno australiano, per LOMA statisticamente ha inizio il declino dell’apice dei suoi anni migliori, ma LOMA è intenzionato a scrivere un altro capitolo trionfante nella sua carriera. Conquistare la cintura IBF.
E non c’è motivo da dubitarne. Il talento è intatto, l’esperienza è il suo patrimonio e poi ogni volta che è salito sul ring con quel suo quid difficile da prevedere, rende l’impresa ancor più intensa.
Per me LOMA non ha perso vs HANEY, anche questo l’avevo scritto.
LOMA intanto che si era unito al suo battaglione in guerra di difesa della sua Ucraina, non ha mai interrotto la sua preparazione, e lo do per certo la sua unica distrazione in tempi così cupi è sognare vedere il traguardo, condividere quell’emozione che solo la vittoria fa scaldare il cuore.
E così con un suo figlio vittorioso sul ring, l’Ucraina crede che nulla è perduto. I Pugili, quando così combattivi sono autentici Guerrieri. Quel verdetto non è stato giusto.
Nella Boxe mai nulla è scontato. Ma con LOMA di più. LOMA come i suoi connazionali ucraini autentiche leggende, e ben sapete che mi riferisco ai FRATELLI KLITSCHKO come alla prossima grande prova di OLEKSANDR USYK vs TYSON FURY, tutti egualmente hanno conquistato il mondo con gran classe e dignità, dando lustro alla boxe di tutto il mondo. Lezioni di nobiltà.
Come i grandi guerrieri di un tempo passato a ricordarci che vincere sul ring non è solo prova del valore di sé stessi, ma è la vittoria di un popolo, tanto coraggioso quanto generoso, il popolo ucraino ce lo dimostra ogni giorno.
Del resto essere liberi è il vero anzi l’unico lusso.

LOMACHENKO via TKO!
Per LOMA ci sono voluti solo i primi tre round di studio intanto che assorbiva un primo attacco al corpo, poi la leggenda ucraina ha iniziato a colpire KAMBOSOS con colpi corti nel quarto round, sembrava cercare di porre fine alle cose in anticipo.
L’assalto è continuato nel quinto mentre la faccia di KAMBOSOS ha iniziato a riflettere il vantaggio di LOMA. Nell’ottavo round, KAMBOSOS ha subito un taglio sopra l’occhio destro mentre LOMACHENKO continuava a taggarlo.
All’11° round con un magistrale colpo sinistro al fegato, LOMA stende in Knock Down KAMBOSOS. L’australiano si rialza, LOMA insiste ancora con il sinistro e KAMBOSOS è di nuovo al tappeto. l’arbitro ferma il match contemporaneamente, il padre dell’australiano va volare la spugna.
In tutti i round, fresco, dinamico LOMACHENKO non ha lasciato il verdetto in mano ai Giudici e così ancora una volta ho messo a segno la mia previsione. Peccato che io non sia una giocatrice…
Con le mani piene di Gloria, dal cielo, sento il fragoroso applauso di Papà GARBELLI per quel colpo al fegato di LOMA, di cui era maestro.

In the New World there is fine early winter air.
Tomorrow evening, VASYL LOMACHENKO, Ukraine 20 fights, 17 won,11 via KO, lost 3. The immense LOMA will fight vs the son of Australia, GEORGE KAMBOSOS jr. for the vacant IBF Lightweight title, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.
Accompanying VASYL LOMACHENKO on this trip to the New World is the greatest boxing promoter ever, BOB ARUM.
LOMACHENKO & ARUM is among the best partnerships that the great American promoter consolidated, relying on his intuition, and recognizing the talent of the great Ukrainian.
GEORGE KAMBOSOS, 31 years old next June, with 23 fights of which 10 won via KO and 2 lost, and with the audience on his side is on a mission to conquer the new IBF world title belt.
I’m not sure he has the whole audience for him, because when there is such a renowned opponent as the Ukrainian, even the most enthusiastic fans know that LOMACHENKO’s talent can make one proud even if KAMBOSOS’s performance doesn’t go as planned they hope.

On the corner of KAMBOSOS is LOU DIBELLA—an excellent New York promoter of Italian origin, with a long history in American boxing.
The Ukrainian, LOMA 36 years old, was World Champion in three divisions: Lightweight, Super Featherweight, and Featherweight, and an amazing amateur in Featherweight, with two Gold Medals at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics.
Those who follow me know that I repeat myself here: LOMA only made one mistake in his career, a significant mistake, he landed in the USA to the legendary BOB ARUM and his Top Rank, too late.
On this coming night in the early Australian winter, LOMA statistically begins the decline of the peak of his best years. Still, LOMA is intent on writing another triumphant chapter in his career.
And there is no reason to doubt it. His talent is intact, his experience is his asset and then every time he enters the ring with something that is difficult to predict, it makes the undertaking even more intense.

In boxing, nothing is ever taken for granted. But with LOMA more. LOMA like his fellow Ukrainians are authentic legend, and you know well that I am referring to the KLITSCHKO BROTHERS, as to the next great test of OLEKSANDR USYK vs TYSON FURY all of them equally have conquered the world with great class and dignity, giving prestige to boxing all over the world.
Lessons of nobility.
Like the great warriors of a time spent reminding us that winning in the ring is not only proof of one’s worth, but is the victory of a people, as courageous as they are generous, the Ukrainian people demonstrate this to us every day.
After all, being free is the true, or rather the only, luxury.

LOMACHENKO via TKO!
It only took LOMA the first three rounds to study as he absorbed an initial attack to the body, and then the Ukrainian legend started hitting KAMBOSOS with short shots in the fourth round, looking to end things early.
The onslaught continued in the fifth as KAMBOSOS’ face began to reflect LOMA’s lead. In the 8th round, KAMBOSOS suffered a cut above his right eye as LOMACHENKO continued to tag him.
In the 11th round with a masterful left blow to the liver, LOMA knocks down KAMBOSOS. The Australian gets up, LOMA insists again with the left and KAMBOSOS is down again, the referee stops the fight and at the same time, the Australian’s father throws the towel.
In all the rounds, fresh, dynamic LOMACHENKO did not leave the verdict in the hands of the Judges and so once again I made my prediction come true. Too bad I’m not a gambler…
With his hands full of Glory, from heaven, I hear Dad GARBELLI’s thunderous applause for that shot to the liver of LOMA, of which he was the master.
