É di poca fa la triste notizia, Gianni Minà ci ha lasciato a 84 anni, bravo giornalista e scrittore. Gran curioso e profondo conoscitore del Sud del mondo.
Gianni amico caro del pugilato. Amico vero, di quelli che rispondevano sempre e si ricordavano tutto. Anche tu sei stato spesso ricordato dai grandi che hai toccato con mano.
Quando ho incontrato la prima volta Angelo Dundee, mi ha chiesto se ti conoscevo, poi abbiamo approfondito le nostre familiarità, ed eravamo in tanti a stimarti.
Angelo Dundee, maestro di pugilato, americano/italiano, uomo di carattere, gentilissimo per 25 anni all’angolo di Muhammad Ali e di altri Campioni Mondiali, ti aveva come riferimento italiano come lo stesso Ali…
Non sai come mi si è spezzato il cuore vedervi andar via così tanti e meravigliosi Amici che ho ereditato da Papà Giancarlo.
I grandi anche in cielo s’incontrano e si riconoscono, non c’è dubbio. E lasciano quella scia di impalpabile leggerezza e profonda sensibilità del loro viaggio sul mondo.
Sulle mie tribolazioni, mi dicevi…:”bisognerebbe fare un film su di te!” Eh sì..! Ci manca! Sarebbe una dichiarazione di guerra al regime sinistro in cui l’Italia è morsa da decenni!
Invece mi dispiace infinitamente che non ho potuto renderti omaggio con la visione del mio docufilm, ma stai certo che lì impresso nel mio racconto ci sarai sempre, ci sarete sempre, Tu Gianni, con Maurizio Costanzo, Gianni Fusco… Budd Schulberg…e ancora di più. Ora è un gran bel documentario scolpito per la Storia.

Del resto, ho voluto toccare tutto con mano, un gran lavoro in prima persona, ne saresti stato orgoglioso.
Solo i vigliacchi codardi della Direzione Cinema del Ministero Cultura dell’ex ministro Dario Franceschini, potevano cassare il mio (capo)lavoro, i miei protagonisti.
Ed è una beffa anche quella superficialità della Giustizia, rimandando in esame al MIC, che “gli esperti” della Direzione Cinema han cassato paventando la solita beota idiozia, invece si tratta di maligna cattiveria. E così han cassato il mio docufilm IL FIGHTER D’ITALIA GIANCARLO GARBELLI à il Pugilato é Violento Ma La Violenza Non É Pugilato– e così ovviamente han cassato la nostra Storia. Pensano loro…
E che ci sia anche tu Gianni e altri grandi rende ancor di più inquieto il disastro morale, politico, economico spalmato in questi ultimi decenni.

The sad news came a couple of hours ago. Gianni Minà passed away at the age of 84, a very good journalist and writer. Great curious and a deeper connoisseur of the Southern hemisphere of the world.
Gianni was a dear friend of boxing. True friend, one of those who always answered and remembered everything. You too have often been remembered by the greats you have touched.
When I met Angelo Dundee for the first time, he asked me if I knew you, then we deepened our familiarity, and there were many of us who respected you.
Angelo Dundee, boxing trainer, one of a kind… American/Italian, a man of character, very kind, for 25 years at the corner of Muhammad Ali and other World Champions, had you as an Italian reference like Ali himself…
You don’t know how it broke my heart to see you leave so many wonderful friends that I inherited from my Dad Giancarlo.
There is no doubt that greats meet and recognize each other even in heaven. And they leave that trail of impalpable lightness and profound sensitivity of their journey around the world.
You said to me about my tribulations…:” a film should be made about you!” Well yes..! Of course! That would be a declaration of war on the sinister regime that Italy has been biting into for decades!
I am infinitely sorry that I couldn’t pay homage to you with the vision of my docufilm, but rest assured that you will always be there imprinted in my story, there will always be, You Gianni, with Maurizio Costanzo, Gianni Fusco… Budd Schulberg… and even much more. Now it’s a great documentary sculpted for History.

Only the viscid cowards of the Cinema Directorate of the Ministry of Culture former Dario Franceschini could question, and cancel my (masterpiece) work, my protagonists.
