Le stelle dell’arena di Manchester questo sabato notte sono loro, l’americana originaria della Virginia, indiscussa campionessa mondiale dei Pesi Super Medi Franchon Crews-Dezurn, che difenderà tutti e 4 i suoi titoli, WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF vs l’ex campionessa mondiale dei Pesi Medi, la britannica Savannah Marshall.

Crews-Dezurn dopo un’intenso periodo dilettantistico ha debuttato nei Pro, sullo stesso ring nel novembre 2016 con una stellare debuttante reduce da due Medaglie d’Oro Olimpiadi, Londra 2012 e Rio 2016 nei Pesi Medi, la connazionale Claressa Shields. L’unico match perso ai punti nel suo record. Da quella notte sul ring di Las Vegas, il suo peso ideale si assesta nei Pesi Super Medi.

Poi Franchon Crews-Dezurn ha conquistato la vacante corona WBC con decisione di maggioranza vs Maricela Cornejo nel settembre 2018 e successivamente vincendo il vacante titolo WBO in una rivincita contro Cornejo, esattamente un anno dopo 2019.

C’è stata poi una notte da non ricordare vs la messicana Alejandra Jimenez, ma importante che ci sia stata perché andava data un po’ di educazione al movimento pugilistico donne americane, la cui arroganza aveva toccato un livello così basso, direi squallido. L’ho già ampiamente descritto.

Oggi USA, UK e Irlanda dominano il pugilato donne, e la classe europea in generale da ogni nazione, devo dire ha insegnato lo stile comportamentale, quel fairplay che se non lo hai spontaneo, qualcuno lo deve indotttrinare.

Nella boxe non è mai bastato vincere sul ring, che fa grande una campionessa sono le sue attenzioni al suo avversario, che non è una nemica. É un’avversaria da rispettare.

Le europee, le asiatiche hanno fatto scuola.

Ora anche le atlete USA sono migliorate, stelle brillanti e per competitività e per classe sportiva.

L’anno scorso, sempre Crews-Dezurn ha conquistato più che convincente dalla svedese Elin Cederroos, i titoli WBA e IBF sul ring del Madison Square Garden.

L’avversaria di questa notte, la britannica Savannah Marshall è stata una stella olimpica oscurata dal giudizio sbagliato, peggio corrotto alle Olimpiadi di Rio 2016, ma l’eccellente Floyd Mayweather jr, non è sfuggito il il suo talento e così nel 2017 è diventata professionista con l’organizzazione di Mayweather.

É rientrata in UK lasciando la scuderia di Floyd in ottimi rapporti, e finalmente nel 2020 nell’arena di Wembley diventa campionessa WBO dei Pesi Medi vs la connazionale Hannah Rankin.

Quella grande cavalcata conquistata da Marshall si arresta quando la strepitosa Claressa Shield gli strappa quella corona.

Questa notte Savannah Marshall è decisa a fare una figurone a casa sua, l’americana, non avrà solo Marshall da combattere ma dovrà zittire il pubblico di Manchester che per chi non lo conosce o non c’è mai stata, deve sapere che é un vero vespaio che può intimidire le più energiche intenzioni. Conteranno i nervi saldi.

La Marshall è di ben 10cm più alta, ha 32 anni, l’americana ha da pochi giorni compiuto 35 anni. L’americana è fisicamente più robusta, più squadrata rispetto alla longilinea britannica. La britannica ha più match vinti 11 su 12 match, di cui 10 via KO! É soprannominata “l’assassina silenziosa”… L’americana Crews-Dezurn ha vinto 7 match su 8. Di cui 2 via KO.

In nessun modo vedo uscire l’americana vittoriosa dall’Arena di Manchester. La britannica anche se di poco è più giovane, più esperta, protetta all’inverosimile da quella super arena di Manchester così incandescente per MARSHALL, è per lei la notte del riscatto o questa sera o mai più!

Troppe trattenute. Più una corrida senza torero… Pochi momenti di gran pugilato.
Un match non all’altezza delle aspettative che ho preannunciato.

L’americana non ispira la prosa del miglior pugilato.

I colpi più puliti sono stati della britannica che ha sferrato decisa il destro incrociato, mettendo più volte in difficoltà la statunitense, che così ha detronizzato l’americana, passando all’incasso di tutte e quattro le cinture, dei Pesi Super Medi: WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF.

Una notte di difesa vs la messicana JIMENEZ, potrebbe essere un’idea…
L’unica avversaria che vedo per lo neo campionessa e da stasera indiscussa SAVANNAH MARSHALL è CLARESSA SHIELD.

CREWS-DEZURN vs MARSHALL two amazons under the stars in Manchester
