QUESTA NOTTE a OSLO in NORVEGIA, la campionessa indiscussa di tutte le cinture mondiali, Pesi Welter WBC / WBA / WBO / IBF CECILIA BREAKHUS vs ANNE SOPHIE MATHIS, alla Spectrum Arena di Oslo, Norvegia. Publicizzato come “Il Ritorno a Casa”, BRAEKHUS  combatterà per la prima volta davanti al suo pubblico, dopo che il governo norvegese ha tolto il divieto della boxe professionale, all’inizio di quest’anno.

Lo sport della Boxe, in Norvegia, è stato vietato per 35 anni. “First Lady”, che di anni ne ha 35, nata in Colombia, è stata da bimba adottata da una famiglia norvegese, e ha dovuto iniziare la sua carriera da professionista in Germania, e poi via con ad oggi, 28 sfide vinte,  Svizzera, Belgio, Danimarca e Finlandia.

Quando il match è stato annunciato, in 2 ore, la Spectrum Arena ha registrato il tutto esaurito. BRAEKHUS e MATHIS si conoscono molto bene. Nel settembre 2012, in Danimarca, a distanza di 10 round, emozionanti e coinvolgenti, con CECILIA vincitrice in stretta misura.

Questa sera la sfidante ANNE SOPHIE MATHIS, francese, 39 anni, farà di tutto per rovinare la festa familiare norvegese, cercando di portare via tutte le cinture della più grande campionessa di boxe di tutti i tempi, detentrice appunto di tutti i trofei delle sua categoria.

Mai nessuna donna, è arrivata ad unificare tutti i titoli mondiali. Alle operazioni di peso, ieri mattina MATHIS leggermente meno del campione 66,3 kg (146,1 libbre) mentre BRAEKHUS è salita sulla bilancia al limite di 66,6 kg (147 libbre.).

CECILIA BRAEKHUS vs ANNE SOPHIE MATHIS. All world unification championship belts. LADIES MAKES HISTORY.

TONIGHT in OSLO NORWAY, Undisputed WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF female Welterweight Champion CECILIA BRAEKHUS  and challenger ANNE SOPHIE MATHIS are ready for their historic clash, at the Spectrum Arena in Oslo, Norway. Labeled “Homecoming”, BRAEKHUS will fight for the very first time in front of her home fans, after the Norwegian government lifted the ban on professional boxing earlier this year.

Because the sport had been prohibited for 35 years in her homeland, the “First Lady”, born in Colombia, adopted by a Norvegian family, is now 35 years old, had to start her pro career in Germany, and then become a road warrior, competing in Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark and Finland.

When the “Homecoming” fight was announced the 9,000 seat Spectrum Arena sold out in two hours! BRAEKHUS and MATHIS know each other very well. In September 2012 they went the distance, battling for ten exciting and absorbing rounds, with CECILIA earning a close decision win (97-93 on all three cards) in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

Now the 39-year-old challenger will try her utmost to spoil the homely celebration, attempting to take BRAEKHUS impressive collection of World Championship belts back home to France.

At today’s official weigh-in, Mathis was slightly lighter than the champ weighing in at 66.3 kg (146.1 lbs) while Braekhus touched the scale at the limit of 66.6 kg (147 lbs.).
