RINO TOMMASI che conosco bene e ritengo in assoluto il miglior commentatore di Pugilato di sempre.

Uomo colto ricco di informazioni, la passione per i numeri lo ha fatto diventare il primo per la scienza della statistica. La statistica nello Sport l’ha introdotta lui.

Un vero amante della matematica. ComputeRino, è il suo soprannome, è da anni purtroppo malato.

Ci stimavamo molto. Gli piacevo. E si faceva trascinare dal mio entusiasmo.

Io lo punzecchiavo ogni qualvolta ci trovavamo ai bordo ring, perché sostenevo che non ci metteva il cuore. E lui confermava di averlo di pietra. Non a caso è stato il più giovane organizzatore di Pugilato e la sua fortuna è iniziata e si è consolidata proprio con la Grande Boxe. Il cuore in un organizzatore non conta…contano i soldi.

RINO un gentiluomo, l’ho conosciuto avanti negli anni,  sapeva essere frugale, è figlio dello Sport, ma anche molto influenzato da quel mondo così radical chic dei circoli del Tennis romano, dove le conquiste femminili spesso contavano più delle vittorie dei campioni dell’epoca.

Va detto che il Tennis ha sfornato spesso degli uomini fascinosissimi. Non di meno dei grandi Campioni di Boxe.

Ma le conquiste nella Boxe, sul Ring sono sempre state predominanti sugli affair sentimentali. Mai viceversa. Sempre stato difficile trovare la Boxe nei giornali di gossip. Salvo eccezioni.

Nel settembre del 1979 RINO TOMMASI fece un’intervista ad – HENRY KISSINGER E LO SPORT – nel suo appartamento a New York per La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mi disse RINO: “KISSINGER è un grande appassionato di Sport, non mi disse granché di straordinario, ma fu una conversazione piacevole, inizialmente da mezz’ora si è protratta per due ore. Fu tale l’eco di quello scoop, che vinsi un importante premio giornalistico”, mi riferì RINO,  a cui  riconosco la grande onestà intellettuale.

E nel 1994 KISSINGER divenne anche Presidente onorario del campionato mondiale di Calcio negli USA. E così membro Onorario dei Giochi Olimpici.

Qualcuno che ce l’ha avuta e ce l’ha con me Gianna… È solo ipocrisia di quel qualcuno che asserisce che lo Sport è lontano dalla politica o viceversa…

Oggi 27 Maggio 2023, HENRY KISSINGER è celebrato in tutto il mondo perché compie 100 anni e da uomo lucido. Non è da tutti!

KISSINGER personalità determinate nella politica Repubblicana americana sotto le Presidenze di Richard Nixon e Gerald Ford; tedesco di origine e di nascita, ebreo, grande stratega, storico d’impressionante competenza geopolitica. Potente uomo del ‘900.

Non ho mai letto quell’intervista di RINO TOMMASI, ma oggi mi piace festeggiare anche RINO TOMMASI, il suo compleanno è stato lo scorso 23 febbraio, quando ha compiuto 89 anni.

Prima in assoluto mio Padre GIANCARLO, poi RINO sono stati i miei apripista nella Grande Boxe, è lui che dopo diversi interrogatori…e intense e appassionate discussioni, mi hanno introdotto alla Grande Boxe contemporanea. Entrambi sicuro del fatto loro!

Poi chi mi ha conosciuto con il passaparola, ha fatto il resto, infatti ho conosciuto il meglio del meglio: un malloppo originale, eccezionale direi. CIAO RINO manchi alla Grande Boxe. Che ogni giorno sia per te una serena passeggiata.

100 YEARS OF HENRY KISSINGER…the great tightrope walker.

RINO TOMMASI whom I know well and I consider absolutely the best commentator on Boxing ever. In Italy absolutely the best ever.
A cultured man full of information, his passion for numbers made him the first in the science of statistics. He introduced statistics in sports.
A true math lover. ComputeRino, his nickname, has unfortunately been ill for years.
We respected each other very much. He liked me. And he got carried away by my enthusiasm.

I teased him whenever we were at ringside because I claimed he didn’t put his heart into it. And he confirmed that he had it in stone. It’s no coincidence that he was the youngest Boxing promoter and his luck began and was consolidated precisely with Great Boxing. The heart in a promoter doesn’t count … the money counts.

RINO is a gentleman, I met him over the years, he knew how to be frugal, he is the son of Sport, but also greatly influenced by that radical chic world of Roman tennis circles, where female conquests often mattered more than the victories of the champions of the era.

It must be said that tennis has often produced very fascinating men. No less than the great Boxing Champions.

But the conquests in Boxing, in the Ring have always been predominant over sentimental affairs. Never vice versa. It has always been difficult to find Boxing in gossip magazines. Barring exceptions.

In September 1979 RINO TOMMASI interviewed HENRY KISSINGER AND SPORT in his apartment in New York for La Gazzetta dello Sport.

RINO told me: “KISSINGER is a great sports fan, he didn’t tell me much of an extraordinary nature, but it was a pleasant conversation, initially for half an hour it lasted for two hours. The echo of that scoop was such that I won an important journalism award”, RINO told me, whose great intellectual honesty I recognize.

And in 1994 KISSINGER also became honorary president of the soccer world championship in the USA. And so Honorary Member of the Olympic Games.

Someone who has had it and is angry with me… It’s just the hypocrisy of someone who claims that sport is far from politics or vice versa…

Today May 27, 2023, HENRY KISSINGER is celebrated all over the world because he turns 100 and is a clear-minded man.  That’s not for everyone!

KISSINGER determined personalities in American Republican politics under the Presidencies of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford; German by origin and birth, Jew, great strategist, and historian of impressive geopolitical competence. A powerful man of the 1900s.

I’ve never read that interview by RINO TOMMASI, but today I also like to celebrate RINO TOMMASI, his birthday was last February 23, when he turned 89.

First ever my Father GIANCARLO, then RINO were my forerunners in Grande Boxing, it is he who, after several interrogations…and intense and passionate discussions, introduced me to contemporary Grande Boxing. Both are sure of them!
Then those who got to know me in years by word of mouth did the rest, in fact, I got to know the best of the best: an original swag, exceptional I would say. CIAO RINO, Grande Boxing misses you. I wish may every day be a peaceful walk for you.
